I had the pleasure of planning the cutest Parisian Minnie Mouse 1st birthday & dohl. As soon as I booked it and got started on the design plan I knew it would be special and one of my all time favorites! I was right for sure but it’s also one of the favorites of new clients as well, whenever I book a Minnie party now that’s the one that always comes up as inspiration. It never gets old getting my own work from a potential client as “inspiration”. Back when I first started and even a few years after that I would get random parties online that was suppose to serve as my inspiration – UGH lol. My reply to things like that is always the same – all of my work is original, I don’t look to other peoples work for inspiration at all. What I can do is take the feeling that the intended inspiration and give you that same feeling…hopefully 🙂 Anyway, I’m off on a tangent that I didn’t intend.
I was fortunate enough to work with Tatiana of Tatiana Teo Photography. As usual she captured the event beautifully!
My client wanted a representation of the famous Locks of Love from Paris so I thought the best place for that would be the entry way. I painted a fence on canvas in the event colors and framed it with a gorgeous ornate black frame from Hobby Lobby. This was one of my favorite elements from the party. The guests wrote their messages of celebration on paper locks that I cut and assembled myself, each lock was then secured to the board with a Kate Spade bow shaped push pin – DETAILS!

The kids dined at a table styled specifically for them and their size which is something I pride myself on. Even though the look might be sophisticated compared to other things made for kids, my tables are always very appropriate. There is absolutely nothing here that’s inappropriate or awkard for kids – nothing – ever. I use real decor and place settings, just mini 🙂

The dessert table was AMAZING! I got to do a flower wall for the first time, it’s from an amazing florist Alisha Simone.
The Dohl portion of the event was my favorite! My client wanted to pay homage to her Korean culture by performing a dohl – it was so amazing.
What could be a better party favor than a little French poodle?!
XOXO,
