This pool party from last year was an absolutely dream, I was on cloud 9 for weeks after it was over! Yes, I’m still posting pictures from last years parties. After this one though I am definitely going to take a break of at least 1-2 posts to give you guys something else to look at besides my parties lol. It’s not summer at all, and while I don’t wish that it were (I love spring so much!) I do wish I could splash around in the pool with the kiddos. I planned this party in less than 2 weeks – even me writing that sounds completely nuts but sometimes it has to be done quickly and I was just happy to be part of it. It was on a beautiful property in Morris Plains, NJ with plenty of room for games, playing, lounging, cooking on site, and of course swimming. I couldn’t have asked for a better landscape to work with.
My first step is usually to design all the paper designs for an event. I’m inspired by that the most and it really sets the tone and direction for an event right from the start. I normally design a 3D paper piece and use a designer to do the rest. However, I was short on time for this event so I decided to go ahead and design all the signage and tags I needed myself. Here’s how they came out!
In my mind, I wanted this to be a more branded event. I never run around an stick tags on everything like cups, napkins, bags, etc. but the style of this party was different. It was a kids party of course but there was also about 80 adults in attendance so I needed to support them with the design and give them some “eye candy” as well lol. Once I had that thought I knew that I needed to take this from just a kids pool party to a kids pool party at a high end cabana club if that makes sense. In walks the black & white stripes….hello classic style!
These lunch boxes were a SQUEEL moment for me! I saw them in Michael’s AFTER I came up with the theme and the colors. These were almost made for me and this party!
